{"id":22821,"date":"2026-06-19T10:25:57","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T10:25:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anellides.com\/?p=22821"},"modified":"2026-06-19T10:25:57","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T10:25:57","slug":"nauticinblu-europe-engages-over-220-students-in-barcelona-to-promote-ocean-literacy-and-marine-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anellides.com\/en\/blog\/nauticinblu-europe-engages-over-220-students-in-barcelona-to-promote-ocean-literacy-and-marine-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"NauticinBlu Europe Engages over 220 Students in Barcelona to Promote Ocean Literacy and Marine Sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The programme in Barcelona involved over 220 students from eight nautical institutes, combining classroom learning with hands-on marine conservation activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Implemented in Barcelona by An\u00e8l\u00b7lides and developed by the Italian Foundation Marevivo with the support of the MSC Foundation, NauticinBlu Europe helps young people strengthen ocean literacy, explore blue economy opportunities and become ambassadors for marine protection.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NauticinBlu Europe project, developed by the Italian Foundation Marevivo and supported by the MSC Foundation, was successfully implemented in Barcelona by An\u00e8l\u00b7lides, Serveis Ambientals Marins, through a hands-on educational programme designed to bring young people closer to the sea and inspire active stewardship of marine ecosystems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative involved 222 students from eight nautical institutes across Barcelona, divided into ten classes, all taking part in a training pathway designed to strengthen awareness of marine ecosystems, environmental challenges and opportunities linked to the blue economy.By combining environmental learning with direct experience of the marine environment, the programme encouraged students to better understand the ocean\u2019s role in sustaining life, livelihoods and coastal communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The programme combined theoretical and practical activities, including sessions on marine biology, ocean literacy, sustainability and climate change, alongside hands-on experiences such as snorkelling activities for direct observation of marine biodiversity and workshops focused on coastal ecosystems and sustainable coastal use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students also visited the Ateneu de Fabricaci\u00f3 de la F\u00e0brica del Sol and participated in activities organised together with the association Dones amb Sal, further enriching the educational experience through direct engagement with environmental and social sustainability topics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22796 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-1024x256.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"\/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-200x50.png 200w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-300x75.png 300w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-400x100.png 400w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-500x125.png 500w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-600x150.png 600w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-700x175.png 700w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-800x200.png 800w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-1024x256.png 1024w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2-1200x300.png 1200w, \/\/anellides.com\/wp-content\/files\/26-2.png 1400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project concluded with a final event attended by Fernando Pacheco (MSC Cruises), Javier Romo (Port of Barcelona) and Pep Hurtado (Strategic Office for the Coastal Area of Barcelona). Fernando Pacheco delivered introductory remarks on behalf of the MSC Foundation, underlining the importance of ocean literacy in empowering young people to become informed and responsible ambassadors for the sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the ceremony, students presented their final projects developed throughout the programme, such as underwater videos and marine-related board games, and received certificates recognising their participation.
